Grand Junction Weekend

After the "denver disaster" I thought we would stick to driving for awhile. Brady had to take a class for his job in Grand Junction last Monday through Wednesday. He had already been gone for work the whole previous week so I decided that the girls and I would take a family trip to Grand Junction to visit him. We stayed at the Double Tree Hotel (compliments of Patterson (Brady's work)) and had a fun time. The girls loved playing in the pool. Camryn got a little confused though. She now thinks that Brady works at a nice hotel with big beds and a pool :) She can't wait to go back!

Denver continued

So finally, no more delays. I head over to gate C44 and hand over my ticket to the attendant. "I'm sorry, but you're too late", she said. My response of course was a little irritated. "What? Are you serious? I was re-scheduled for this flight and I've been here!". Finally, I convinced her to let me on the flight. Lucky me that she let me on board with the other TWO passengers on the plane! There was almost no room ;) Anyways, my flight landed around 3:20pm and I called my mom to let her know I had finally made it home. Almost. As the flight attendant went to open the plane door the door decided it wasn't going to open. So, after the pilot tried, the other pilot tried, the other flight attendant tried...a flight mechanic was finally called. Instead of waiting for the mechanic to fix the door, the crew decided that it would be better to emergency exit all of the passengers. So all three of us passengers were emergency exited and proceeded into the terminal. I had made it home.
So kids, the lesson here is...try not to be spontaneous. A quick twelve hour trip to Denver and back will surely turn into choatic flight schedules, emergency exits, and by the end you will know the Denver airport like the back of your hand. So plan ahead. :)

Denver Disaster!!!!

So, I was missing Brady a lot yesterday and decided that I just had to see him! So I booked a flight to Denver (last minute - no pre-planning) and flew in to see him. I had made my flight arrangements so that I would return early the next morning when my girls woke up so that they would only need to be watched overnight. Brady got to Denver from Parachute about the same time that my flight got in so it seemed like my overnight trip was going to be a spontaneous fun story to tell our family for years to come. But, no. When I woke up in our hotel (Brady had already left to go back to work) it was 7:28am. Yeah, my flight departed back to Salt Lake at 6:51. So, I scrammbled to change my flight (getting onto the 10:26am flight instead) and arranged for my mom to watch our girls until I arrived at noon. I came to the airport only to find that my 10:26am flight had been delayed to 12:19pm! And worse, as I sit here writing this blog....my flight is now still delayed to Salt Lake (scheduled to leave now at 1:13pm). Hopefully, I make it home! ....to be continued.....
